Sound/Animation Windows 2000 Restart Requirements

When you make on an NT4 Workstation or Server
any change to the network configuration or the dialup
networking/Remote Access setup, you will need to
"shutdown and restart your computer before the
new settings will take effect
".

If you are the administrator of a busy network, it
requires either to request all users to disconnect or
to work early morning or late evening or weekends
(hoping that no other users is working during these times)



Windows 2000 is a major enhancement, because during network configurations it requires
far less system-restarts than Windows NT4.

Example: you can
add a modem-dialin configuration and remove it without a restart !
