Definition of Dial-Up Connection

There are multiple paths to get to the Dial-Up Networking Window:


Via the Control-Panel
using the icon
"Network and Dial-up
Connections
"

Via the Start-Menu
"Settings", then
"Network and Dial-up
Connections
"

via your desktop icon
"My Network Places",
then the link to
"Network and Dial-up
Connections
".




As instructed , select to
"Make a New Connection"

This starts up the
"Network Connection Wizard"

This Wizard takes care about
all different kind of connections
(incoming and outgoing, via
modem or direct-cable-connection)


In this example, I like to
connect to the Internet

I am connecting via
Modem using a Phone-line

The access number
(in this example for
CompuServe in Brussels)

The User-Identification
and Password, as assigned
by the Internet provider

Lets define a name
of the Connection
Done !



However: most Internet connections require some
additional configuration,
before you are able to
make your first connection to the Internet.
