Getting an DCC Call

After we defined the "Incoming Connection", the system is ready to accept
Incoming DCC calls (example:
from a Windows95/98 system) , which is almost identical
to getting an
Incoming modem call:

Once a DCC connection is active:

the "Incoming Connection" icon becomes more colorful showing an
"Unauthenticated User" and the icon in the taskbar.

By opening a Command-Prompt Windows and typing : IPCONFIG :

Windows 2000 will list the IP-configuration of all network adapters, including the
PPP adapter of the RAS server, used for the DCC-connection.
You can get the IP-address also (much easier) by double-clicking the in your taskbar:

tab: General

shows the connection statistics
(I think it got the Speed of 4.0 MBS wrong),
also allowing you to terminate the connection,
to "Disconnect"
tab : Details

shows the configuration of the DCC connection:
- protocols used
- IP-address of both the DCC host and DCC client

Note, that you have to re-activate the connection after a Reboot
(like
re-activating an incoming Modem connection)

( Like on a connection via modem) once a Guest has connected via DCC,
the Windows2000 DCC-host can
access the shares of the DCC-guest
(if the guest has File-and-Print sharing activated).
