Although I have never setup a games to play via
a network, I have been saked so often, that I collected some
answers from the newsgroups on this subject.
First, you need to understand the IPX/SPX basics:
- since there is no server, you MUST define the Frame-Type yourself !
- verify, that all systems have the same IPX-Network
address.
- make sure, that you have a valid PC-to-PC workgroup network
using the "Client for Microsoft Networks" and
"File and Print Sharing for Microsoft Networks" (don't forget: you must share SOMETHING, otherwise the
system will not be shown in the "Network Neighborhood").
- enable "NetBIOS" via IPX/SPX:

Select for IPX/SPX the Properties: |
![]() |
on the tab: NetBIOS, put the Check-Mark to "Enable NetBIOS via IPX/SPX" |
![]() |
This allows now the Game, running on different PCs, to talk to each other. |
