| FTP : Internet Browsers |
Since a lot of file are still downloaded on the
Internet via FTP, most Internet Browsers (like : Netscape
Navigator/Communicator and Microsoft Internet Explorer) support
FTP.
To use it, specify the use of FTP on entering the URL:

We use the same example as for the command-line FTP:
McAfee, the Virus-Scanner.
The browser displays now the FTP-root file/directory listing:

To display the files in a directory, just 'click' on it (here: 'pub/')

In the "win95" directory, we
have located our file, clicking now on it activates the
FTP-download and we are prompted for the locations, on where to
"save as" the file:

During the download, a progress indicator is display, but if you
like, you can continue with other Internet "surfing",
while the download is going on (like: downloading other files or
viewing WWW/HTML-pages):
